SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Matthew Boomhower, president and founder of Southern Cross Property Consultants, has been confirmed by the San Diego City Council to a four-year term as Planning Commissioner for the City of San Diego.

Boomhower, licensed in California as an architect and attorney, founded Southern Cross Property Consultants in 2002. SCPC is a construction management, technical architecture, project permitting and facilities management company. He remains active in the business as president, presiding over offices in San Diego and Orange counties. He also has a solo law practice in San Diego where he advises clients in land use matters and serves as outside counsel to several closely held businesses.

Active involvement in shaping San Diego’s building industry has been an earmark of Boomhower’s career. He currently serves as a member of the San Diego Zoological Society Foundation’s Charitable Real Estate Committee, and prior to the Planning Commission appointment he served on the City of San Diego, Development Services, Code Monitoring Team.

Boomhower received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee and his Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law.
