Ethics Mastery Course (LDR550)

The CACM Ethics Mastery course has been developed to provide members, who are at the Internalization and Mastery skill levels as defined by the CACM Professional Pathway, with an opportunity to engage in an in-depth analysis of authentic, ethical dilemmas faced by community managers throughout the state. Participants will work in collaborative groups, selecting case studies from a diverse portfolio vetted by the Ethics Case Study Editorial Committee. The CACM Code of Professional Ethics and Standards of Practice serves as a resource to shape discussions and inform analysis of each case study.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Analyze a portfolio of case studies that reflect industry-based, ethical dilemmas faced by community managers.
  • Using that analysis, engage in collaborative discussions to resolve each dilemma demonstrating an appropriate ethical behavior response

Who Should Take This Course?

  • Experienced community manager members interested in “digging deeper” into ethical issues
  • Members at the Internalization and Mastery skill levels as defined by the CACM Professional Pathway. These include CCAMs with specialty designations (e.g., CCAM-HR, etc.), MCAMs, and CAMExs.

Prerequisites:   Completion of Advanced Ethics: Leadership & Decision-Making prior to registering in this mastery-level course

Continuing Education Units (CEUs):   4

Course Length:  This course is made up of two, 2 hour sessions.
