This interactive course will introduce you to the information and resources necessary to effectively manage commercial and industrial CIDs and commercial sub-associations within mixed-use and industrial subdivisions. Learn many best practices of industry professionals while acquiring a toolkit of resources for future use.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
– Understand the differences between subdivisions as defined by Davis-Stirling Common Interest Development Act and those governed by the Commercial and Industrial Common Interest Development Act;
– Identify California Bureau of Real Estate city and county requirements for establishing and managing a commercial CID;
– Become familiar with different commercial CID types and the unique management responsibilities associated with each;
– Successfully address the unique challenges of subdivisions that house commercial businesses combined with residential units;
– Understand the regulations relating to live/work unit activities;
– Understand terms and definitions that are unique to commercial and industrial CIDs;
– Describe the manager’s role and understand the business experience, financial background and knowledge expected of the manager when working with owners of commercial CIDs
