Join fellow CACM Large Scale managers from across California for this one-day, virtual summit focused specifically on you! Experience the freedom of collaborating with other attendees who view communities through the same lens. You’ll find collaborative and collective solutions to some of your most challenging situations, all while building and strengthening relationships in a virtual environment that fosters just that!
Travel “virtually” across the state of California touring large scale properties, asking questions of the individuals who manage them and taking a deeper dive into mastering the unique challenges faced by a professional large scale manager.
CCAM, CAFM and MCAM members earn 5 CEUs.

10:45 AM – 12:15 PM: Strategic Planning For Large Scale Communities

Speaker: Scott Clements, RS of Reserve Studies, Inc.
With proper planning of the needs and desires of the Association membership and nearby residents, HOAs can ensure they have a positive impact on their local communities and are valued neighbors. In this session, managers learn the processes for identifying the short-term and long-range goals for their communities. The session will highlight operational and financial plans needed to fulfill the overall goals, and how to engage the membership in these discussions. Learn how to evaluate the financial information to determine the range and timelines of community needs, and prioritize the pending projects. The course will include a mock Reserve Study that participants will review and discuss the immediate, mid-range, and long term issues to focus on, and the process of refining the information. Course will outline techniques for developing realistic funding models for Board members to consider.

Location: Board Room 2 (Education Suite) in CMworld
This fully immersive property tour will consist of video, photo and live discussion with the manager responsible for the day-to-day operation of the property. Be a part of open discussion around the property’s challenges, working collaboratively to find creative solutions that lead to success.

Speaker: Laurel Donnellan, Founder and CEO of Compassionate Leaders Circle
Laurel has more than 30 years of experience in executive coaching and consulting with individuals and organizations including Cornell University, Toyota, Disney, Viacom, Facebook and New York City Board of Education. She has an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and an MA in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. A contributor at Forbes.com and published author of Born To Do: The Practical Guide To Loving Your Work, Laurel will provide attendees with practical tools and insight to build compassionate leadership skills.

SPEAKERS
Scott Clements is Chief Executive Officer, and a Managing Partner, of Reserve Studies Inc. He has achieved the prestigious Reserve Specialist (RS) designation from Community Associations Institute (CAI), and the Professional Reserve Analyst (PRA) designation from the Association of Professional Reserve Analysts (APRA). He also holds the Certified Master Inspector (CMI) designation from the California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA). Scott is an active member of the California Association of Community Managers (CACM). He currently serves on the CACM Faculty, Reserve Analysts Committee, and is co-author of the CACM Education Programs “Reserves; What, Why & How”, and “Strategic Financial Planning.” A frequent author for Vision Magazine, and a popular speaker with Community Managers. Scott is the recipient of the 2011 CACM Vision Award for Excellence in Service.
Laurel Donnellan is Founder and CEO at Compassionate Leaders Circle, leadership contributor at Forbes.com, podcaster, author and speaker. Laurel has more than 30 years of experience in executive coaching and consulting with individuals and organizations including Cornell University, Toyota, Disney, Viacom, and New York City Board of Education. She has dedicated the last 24 years to researching, developing and validating change models that help people find work, they love and help organizations provide loveable work. Laurel specializes in career, leadership and organizational development that improves engagement and has designed curriculum for corporate universities, schools, universities, an ashram and a prison. She has an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and an MA in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. In addition to her formal education, she has immersed herself in learning the ancient Native American Vision Quest tradition and is a certified yoga instructor through the Omega Institute.
