Legislative Forum
March 20, 2012
Hyatt Regency, Sacramento

The 2012 Legislative Forum gathered nearly 80 attendees for a half-day program designed to increase awareness of the legislative process and offer a glimpse into the intricate workings of the Capitol. The event began with a review of do’s and don’ts of meeting with legislators, CACM’s positions on various bills and the purpose and goals of CACM’s Political Action Committee Fund
.

The morning continued with key bill discussions from Norma Torres, Chair of Assembly Housing; Ted Gaines, Vice Chair of Senate Housing; and Linda Wheaton, Assistant Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, Housing & Community Development. After a short walk to the Capitol, attendees had the opportunity to participate in individual appointments with Legislators from their district to discuss CACM’s positions on key bills.
